Terrible Experience!
This rodeo comes to town once a year for one weekend. That being the case, few people keep up with it until it is in town. There were posters all over the place that stated there was a rodeo the third and fourth and you could buy tickets at the gate. After waiting in traffic for an hour and a half, we finally make it to the parking area and walk to the ticket area. After waiting there for another thirty minutes, we are ten people away from the entrance when they come walking by and tell us the gate is shut and that we should have bought tickets online. There was no sign of anything ANYWHERE that said you even COULD buy tickets online. After all that waiting we had to turn around and leave. I understand that they could only accept a certain number of people but if that was the case then they should have stopped letting traffic in. Even after we were turned away people were still coming in and getting turned away! Even just when they realized it was getting full they could have made an announcement and warned us that the tickets were filling up! This situation was handed very poorly. We then had to wait in traffic for another hour just to leave after getting nothing! Even people who bought tickets ahead of time were forced to stand because they didn’t have seats for them!! Terrible service, very unhelpful and unempathetic staff! Would not recommend. They don’t even have that many participants so each event only lasts a couple minutes. You also had to pay an extra two dollars to buy the tickets online!
Not happy
I am sure it would have been a great event. However, when you sell at least 5 times as many tickets as you have room for people, it’s a nightmare. We were not told to bring chairs, and even if we did, there was nowhere to put them. We never saw the show. When attending with parents in their 70’s, standing in a huge crowd was not an option. Asked for refund, but was told there were no refunds because “we told you at the gate it was standing room only”. However, I had bought the tickets online the day before. The traffic was horrible, the number of people there was ridiculous if not completely unsafe, and the only option me and my family had was to leave, as there was just no room to stay. My children were disappointed, as was my entire family. We expected a fun family Independence Day celebration. What we received was not even close.
